Retrofits and upgrades that bring infrastructure current,
without the rebuild

Most facility call-outs are not system failures. They are systems built to a code that has since moved on. Equipment that was compliant and adequate when it was installed gradually falls behind changing standards, rising loads and ageing components, until it becomes a risk, an inefficiency, or a failure waiting to happen.

ADECO upgrades and retrofits electrical and MEP infrastructure to close that gap, bringing installations back to current code and current demand without the cost, downtime and disruption of a full rebuild. Where equipment is still sound, we keep it. Where it needs to change, we change it. The result is infrastructure that is safe, compliant and fit for how the facility actually runs today.

Knowing What's Actually There

A retrofit is only as good as the assessment behind it, and original drawings rarely match what has been installed, modified and added over the years. ADECO begins with load studies and physical condition checks on the actual installation, not the paperwork. This tells us what is genuinely carrying load, what is degraded, what is undersized for present demand, and what can safely stay. Every upgrade decision follows from that evidence rather than from assumptions.

Working Around a Live Site

Most facilities cannot simply shut down for an upgrade, and ADECO does not ask them to. Work is sequenced around operating hours and, where a full shutdown is not an option, executed panel by panel so the facility keeps running while the infrastructure behind it is renewed. Careful sequencing and isolation planning keep the site operational and the work safe, which on live electrical systems is not a convenience but a requirement.

Bringing It Current

The core of the work is simple in intent and demanding in execution: switchgear, cabling and MEP systems brought up to current code and current load, without tearing out what is still serviceable. This covers panel and switchgear upgrades, MEP retrofits, load balancing across phases and circuits, and cable works. The judgment lies in knowing exactly where the line sits between what must be replaced and what can be retained, and ADECO’s engineering assessment is what makes that line defensible.

What Gets Left Behind

A good retrofit should make the next person’s job easier, not harder. On completion, ADECO hands over updated single-line diagrams and as-built records that reflect the system as it now stands. The facility is left not just with compliant, current infrastructure, but with accurate documentation of it, so the next engineer to work on the system starts from reality rather than guesswork.
